The Gobleian Library is a library and pocket realm in Nevermoor. It is located in Old Town's West Quarter on Mayhew Street.
Description[]
The Gobleian Library is situated in a pocket realm which is entered via a revolving door on Mayhew Street in Old Town. The library is a replica of Nevermoor, perpetually in twilight, with library bookshelves located outside, in the streets. Apparently obeying the axiom that clutter expands to fill the available space the library has not only filled up Old Town with books but extends to several other boroughs. There is a small, almost hidden Skyfaced Clock above the stone entrance[1].
History[]
The pocket realm in which the Gobleian exists popped into existence about thirteen Ages ago, about the same time as the Gossamer Line and is likely also a by-product of interrealm exploration. City Hall took over it and, like other Wundrous Acts, a sponsor stepped in to fund it, in this case Lord and Lady Gob-le-Fasse. The library has several Wundrous Society private collections.
Sometime after it was opened the illustrations in the books began to magically come to life and cause varying amounts of havoc. Due to the otherwise ideal conditions the library employs librarians and book-fighters to contain the escapees.
