The Loyalty Trial is the 'fifth and final trial' for the Wundrous Society, and the only one that is done by the unit of nine successful candidates following the Show Trial. Unlike the other trials it is always featured and is not part of the selection process.
Overview[]
The Loyalty Trial is designed to challenge and test the loyalties of the Unit as a whole. In 'Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow', Unit 919 is tested (unknowingly, at the time.) in the form of blackmail. Relationships between the unit members were strained as they were forced to perform the blackmailers' orders, in order to 'protect the secret of Unit 919' (that Lambeth was from the Republic). At the end of 'Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow', everyone in the unit except Lambeth passes the trial. Lambeth herself does not pass as she does not tell anyone of her secret, and lets the unit believe they were protecting the secret of Morrigan being a Wundersmith. The Loyalty Trial can vary, and not all are in the event of blackmail.
Unit 919[]
During Unit 919s Loyalty trial the nine candidates all believed they were protecting Morrigan's secret of being a Wundersmith when in fact they were protecting Lambeth Amara 's secret of being from the Republic.
