Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow is the fourth installment in the Nevermoor series by Jessica Townsend. It has not been published as Townsend is still currently in the process of writing and editing the novel. It is slated to be released in August (AZ) and September (US) 2024 after being pushed back from its October 12, 2022 (AU/UK)[1] and October 11, 2022 (US) [2] dates. It was again delayed from it's October 2023 dates[3].

Morrigan Crow is ready for a new adventure. In Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow, we will travel to places in Nevermoor that we've never seen, we'll meet people from Morrigan's past who will be very important in untangling the mystery of who she is ... as she sides with someone very dangerous to learn more of the Wundrous Arts.[4][5]

The plot has not been revealed at this time.
Release
Silverborn was expected to be released in Australian, New Zealand, and UK markets on October 12, 2022 and October 11, 2022 in American and Canadian markets. On June 13, 2022, Jessica Townsend released a press conference update on social media saying she made the difficult decision to delay the release of the book by a year to October 2023.[3] The major factors in this decision include her ongoing recovery with Covid-19 and ongoing pandemic issues.[6] Townsend stated that in the coming months the new date would be solidified and she would be reveal the cover and synopsis, post snippets, and host Q&A and theory sessions for the novel.[7]. It was again delayed to August 2024 in Australian markets and September 2024 in North America.
Trivia
- On a Q&A session on Instagram, Townsend revealed that more of Squall's past will be revealed[8], Hawthorne's dragonriding world will be shown[9], and the book contains many new characters[10]
- Townsend has also mentioned that some of what a Safeguard entails will be revealed[11]
- The title is not related to Dearborn[12]
